Pottery 1: Functional Sets

Objectives:

• You will use the elements and principles of design to create a functional ceramic set.


• You will focus on the principle of unity in the design of your set.

Unity: a principle of design that creates a sense of order by repeating elements of art that complement the function of the piece.

Choose one of these sets 0f 3-5: use your sketch from class

Bathroom: toothbrush holder, soap dish, tray, lotion or soap dispenser, cotton ball holder, cup, mirror, make-up tray


Kitchen: Butter dish, lotion or soap dispenser, salt and pepper shakers, scrubbie holder, spoon rest, garlic pot, honey pot

Office set: pencil cup, card holder, tray
