Breadth #1 Create a photomontage using your hero photos emphasizing the Elements of Art: line, shape, value, color, texture, space
Objectives: The student will:
1). Be able to identify Cubist works (namely the works of Picasso and the Cubist-inspired works of David Hockney).
2). Develop compositional skills.
3). Continue the development of their sense of composition.
At Home: At Home: Take a series of photos of your subject and photos showing their interests. Take a series of photos side by side, overlap the images. Bring your prints to school for use by: September 1st 2009
In Class: Create a Photomontage representing your hero Due Friday 9/4
Your finished product should be a striking composition that draws the viewer into the image and holds their attention. This montage does not have to take up the whole paper just be sure that it is placed well on the paper.
In Photoshop:
1. Bring in your photos
2. Transfer images to the computer (or scan photos if using film) and review your images as well as the historical images you gathered.

3. Use Photoshop to alter brightness, contrast, and levels to get the photos to look their best. Create final .psd file and work with selections from photos in layers to construct your montage.
4. Adjust colors, textures, ect, be aware of using too many artistic fitlers.
Final Print:
1. Print the image on paper of choice, photo, rag, matte and decide if you would like to add collage elements, drawing or painting.
2. Mount for presentation.
