About: Alex Ross
http://www.animationusa.com/resources/aboutross.html

Alex Ross is the artist that is almost single handedly responsible for generating credibility for comic books as a legitament form of art.

He was born in Portland, Oregon, grduated from the academy of art, and resides in chicago illinois.

Through his gouache techniques he brings classic comic characters, such as batman and superman, to life in new ways, adding new depths, and broadening the audience that gets to see them.

When asked about his inspiration he has said, sometimes: "I have a vision in my head of something I must do"

His Art steadily grows in demand.

My favorite artist is Monet. I’m not a huge fan of the impressionist style but his work is so detailed its inspiring. If you looked at one of his pieces you can see the time and the concentration that goes in to every brush stroke. He uses so many colors some of which you wouldn’t even consider it’s like he can look deeper into things more then most people can. His work reminds me of the first day I got my glasses and I could actually see things in more then basic shapes. It was like I have never actually seen the world before and then suddenly it all came to me. His work is like that to me.
It also amazes me how he continued to do what he did despite the fact he was poor. He had a passion and a talent to see the world, even the simple things in a beautiful way.
